Collaboration on Email Registration Feature (#4479) with Notification System

Hi everyone ,


I’m Sourya (GitHub: @Sourya07), and I’ve been assigned to work on the “Fix Email Registration using Mail Server” feature (Issue #4479) in the Talawa API repository.

@palisadoes mentioned that I should coordinate with @iamanishx, who is currently working on the notification system as part of the GSoC 2025 project.

I’d like to discuss how the new email verification flow can integrate smoothly with the existing notification architecture.
Here’s a quick summary of what I plan to implement:

• Email verification during registration (before login)
• Sending emails via server-based software (Postfix/Sendmail), not Gmail or POP/IMAP
• Setup script prompts for mail server credentials/config
• Comprehensive test coverage (95%+)
• Updated documentation under docs/

@iamanishx — could we sync up on how the notification system currently handles message sending and how best to integrate this?
